Anglesey Abbey Dahlias

We love the gardens of Anglesey Abbey and like most garden visitors we like it best in the winter for it is then that we go especially to view its Winter Gardens. This is one of the first well known winter gardens that have appeared but many have joined in since. We thought while we were in that part of the country in summer we would go and see what it had to offer in a different season.

One border that impressed us deeply was the crescent shaped border of Dahlias. We both particularly enjoy the deepest coloured flowers which aren’t too rigid and tightly balled.

There were so many different cultivars I decided to photograph a selection of those that appealed most.

In my next post about our summer visit to Anglesey Abbey I will share other features that also impressed or interested us.
